Job Description

Design Requirements:




  • Operating AutoCAD 2020 – Producing manufacturing drawings

  • Provide suitable 2D proposal drawings for potential customers

  • Designing new and modified parts with Solidworks 2019

  • Producing 3D models on Solidworks 2019 for the CNC Punch machine

  • Producing Assembly drawings on Solidworks for sales literature

  • Providing a schedule of parts via excel or via Solidworks

  • Liaising with Sales, Manufacture and Site team for improved product design

  • Communicating with suppliers for best parts / materials for Spray booth and design

  • Solving design issues at the manufacturing stage and potentially on site

  • Liaising with site personnel when installation is taking place



Nesting products via Amada software for CNC Punch machine AE 2610 NT – 45 station punch:




  • Production Designer

  • Date Explorer

  • Parameter Explorer

  • ABE planner

  • Blank Cam



Manufacturing Requirements:




  • General Sheet metal operations

  • Being able to read a manufacturing drawing and producing a part from start to finish

  • Working as part of a team to get items ready for loading



Operating the Amada 2610 NT – 45 station CNC Punch machine 




  • Programming the machine when given a punch schedule

  • Maintaining the punch machine, following necessary maintenance schedule

  • Changing of tools within the tool station

  • Reprogramming tool changes

  • Checking sharpness of tools

  • Controlling production through the machine for production schedule



Operating Amada HFE3i 170 – 4/8 Axis Press brake




  • Programming the machine manually if required

  • Programming the machine if given the punch schedule

  • Looking after machine maintenance

  • Tool management, checking tool condition

  • Changing of tools

  • Helping when required with loading of lorry for Spray booth delivery



 Assembly of punched / bent parts


Personal Qualities :

  • Punctuality and general timekeeping

  • Keen interest in engineering

  • Desire to learn a role and its required skillset over a longer time period

  • Reliable, dedicated and motivated to achieve the best outcome at all times

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and help out with other areas of work as and when required



Skills Required :

  • Good standard of maths and English as the job involves reading and interpreting measurements

  • Computer literate

  • Ability to plan and organise a work schedule

  • Basic machining skills; operation, repair etc.

  • Ability to work one to one and take verbal instruction

  • Team player



Future Prospects :

We are hoping to keep the apprentice on in a full-time position
