Job Description

This Traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is the Work Preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high-quality work experience placement.



Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital Skills and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.

Are you eligible?   




  1. Are you currently not in a job? Do you have little or no work experience?

  2. Are you aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 3 (A level)?



As part of the childcare traineeship programme, the successful candidate will undertake 10 weeks of work experience. This will consist of 24 hours a week over three or four days based within the nursery. The remaining 6 hours per week are made up of vocational and employability training including workbooks, online training and skills coach support, plus functional skills training where required.

Work experience will include:




  • Assist with the delivery of play based activities

  • To aid with the development and learning of the children

  • Following agreed nursery routines ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to

  • To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the setting

  • Provide a high standard of physical care and safety

  • Help to ensure the preschool nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times

Future Prospects :

Upon completion of the traineeship, the employer will offer possible progression to an apprenticeship for the right candidates
