Job Description

Key Job Areas: (may be carried out remotely or on a customer site)




  • Maintenance of customer data, including network diagrams etc. on customer database

  • Web hosting administration

  • Provide 1st line support to customers on phone for the following (but not limited to) PC, networking, server, software, backup and telephony issues

  • Provide 1st line support to customers on their site for the following (but not limited to) PC, networking, server, software, backup and telephony issue

  • Software installation – subject to Manager’s instructions/approval

  • Hardware installation – subject to Manager’s instructions/approval

  • Network installation and configuration including security aspects, antivirus and restricting user access – subject to Manager’s instructions/approval

  • PC construction from given specification

  • PC repair and upgrade.

  • DNS configuration

  • Configuring and maintaining email accounts

  • Server management

  • Virus removal

  • General PC maintenance

  • Network configuration. (LAN)

  • Testing new equipment

  • Testing of existing hardware and software

  • Monitoring devices using IP monitor

  • Maintain patches etc on servers and PC’s

  • Set up users on customers servers and PC’s

  • Project work as requested

  • Read trade press and keep up to date with latest IT developments

  • Keep the office tidy

  • All other tasks as required to continually help PSL achieve its goals and objectives.

  • Ensure that tools and vehicles are kept clean and tidy
