Job Description

Learn from the best. Enhance your strengths. Make decisions go further.

Work alongside our teams and Partners while gaining paid work experience. Help companies to grow, invest and innovate to stay ahead of the competition, while developing technical business and commercial skills that will enhance your career. And develop an understanding of the business world while enjoying opportunities to meet influential experts and build new skills that will shape the rest of your career.

What is Strategy and Transactions at EY?

Economies are fuelled by competitive organisations who buy, sell, merge or restructure parts of their business with others. Within Strategy and Transactions, we help organisations do all that while making more informed decisions and building better strategies for our clients. By advising them on capital solutions, we give way to fast and authentic growth that will re-shape their operations.

As a member of this team, you’ll work across complex deals while driving economic and social change. You’ll use your diverse thinking to influence key projects and contribute to large-scale topics. And, you’ll build a unique career you can be truly proud of.

What will you be doing?

We have a range of opportunities within our Strategy and Transactions business area to choose from. Whether you go into Corporate Finance, Economic Advisory, Transaction Strategy Execution, Transactions Diligence, Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy or Valuations, you’ll get a sense of the scale of our business purely by being a part of it. Here, you could be:

  • Working alongside experienced consultants, giving you access to a wealth of knowledge
  • Developing analytical and relationship-building skills
  • Contributing to real client projects and doing similar work to our graduates

If everything works out well, you could even secure a job here after you graduate. This is how you come closer to building a better career in our better working world.

Entry requirements

If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an Honours degree in any subject – some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area – have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/ Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

Project You. It’s yours to build.

Please note, we’re phasing our opening of Student opportunities for 2021, so some specific roles listed above may not open until September. We recommend you check our website regularly for updates.
