Job Description

Job purpose



This is a support function role covering all area of Human Resources; including recruitment and selection, employee relations, learning & development, policy and procedures, reward, coaching and project work as required.



The duties range from minor administration duties, to full-scale projects and ongoing responsibilities, involving interaction across all business areas at all levels. This includes general administration duties and reception duties.



Duties and responsibilities



To support with the following during training, picking up tasks as the role develops:




  • To administrate the absence management process - monitoring and tracking

  • To support with employee relations including writing letters compliant with policy and legislation

  • To handle and file confidential information, complying with GDPR and providing admin and support for GDPR functionality

  • To maintain the HR database ensuring this is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation

  • To support the recruitment processes and interact with recruitment agencies

  • To liaise with managers, employees, and suppliers to arrange meetings, plan in training courses, take meeting minutes and notes e.g. for the Works Council, informal and formal meetings as required

  • To prepare recruitment and induction documentation

  • To event plan and co-ordinate as required e.g. Christmas Party

  • To maintain starters/leavers log, long service award administration and tracking of benefits qualifying dates

  • To maintain job descriptions in line with HR, legal, HSE and ISO responsibilities for each role

  • To maintain the company benefits schemes

  • To keep up to date with employment law issues and legislation changes

  • To support with maintaining occupational health testing

  • To co-ordinate systems, facilities admin, and technical support admin.

  • To produce complex reports and financial documents using a wide range of IT packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP

  • To work as part of the office team to cover office duties including, answering telephones, reception duties and maintain general standards

  • To complete general HR administrative duties

  • Ability to follow instruction and have a methodical approach to tasks               

  • The aptitude/ability to work in an organised manner, under pressure and methodically



Skills Required :

  • Basic technical understanding

  • Good communication skills

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

  • Technical aptitude – the ability to learn new technologies quickly (full training will be provided where required)



Future Prospects :

This role is part of our talent planning for the future. For the right person we would look to continue to develop them further upon successful completion of their apprenticeship although no role is guaranteed.
