What we're looking for:



This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual to start their Software Engineering career working as a Level 4 Apprentice for a global organisation. You'll be working within a vibrant team, gaining hands-on experience and technical mentoring from world-class industry professionals as well as opportunities for achieving complimentary industry recognised certifications – all whilst earning!



You'll be an IT enthusiast with an understanding of programming fundamentals and a passion for software quality.



Duties and responsibilities will include:




  • Support the development and operation of an internal test automation system responsible for performance analysis of our software products

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with the local engineering team, understanding and meeting their requirements

  • Create, update and maintain documentation, guides, tips and procedures

  • Attend regular training with Firebrand, and be ready to put your new skills into action on your return, sharing and building on these as you progress

  • Work with your mentor and the wider team to build and develop your skills outside of the classroom


Personal Qualities :

  • A can-do positive, pro-active attitude

  • An interest in software engineering

  • A passion for software quality

  • Self-motivated individual, with a strong desire to learn and develop



Skills Required :

  • A good understanding of programming fundamentals such as working with variables, control structures, data structures and source control tooling

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills



You might also have (but don’t need):




  • Knowledge of commercial-grade test automation frameworks

  • Excellent systems engineering and administration skills

  • Strong functional programming skills (particularly Python)

By working hard and demonstrating your ability, drive and commitment throughout your 16-month apprenticeship scheme, upon completion there may be further opportunities to continue growing within this exciting organisation.
