Job Description

Duties will include:




  • Gain an understanding of the technical aspects of the test teams’ activities

  • Learn how to undertake testing of marine wireless products including emergency beacons, including environmental stress tests

  • Become competent collating test records

  • Accurately complete database entries

  • Learn how to complete report documentation

  • Eventually become able to support the development of procedures and processes to improve the efficiency of the test service

  • Learn how to contribute towards the 5S of the working area

  • Become competent in monitoring processes using root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to effectively resolve issues

  • Learn how to identify cost effective interventions to solve problems

  • Become responsible in accordance with scheduled requirements and effectively communicate any changes to internal customers

  • Learn how to make a contribution to a range of projects and work collaboratively with the calibration engineering team


Personal Qualities :

  • A genuine interest in testing with aspirations to become an RF Test Engineering specialist

  • An interest in electrical items, taking things apart at home to try and understand how they work and fix them

  • A self-starter and good team worker

  • Flexible with a “can do” attitude

  • Willing to undertake a level of business travel to work at other sites and customer premises

  • Willing to work shift/overtime where necessary



Skills Required :

  • A knowledge of electrical measurement equipment such as multimeters

  • A knowledge of electrical circuits and components

  • You will be organised and work in a tidy, professional manner

  • Have an excellent attention to detail

  • You will possess good interpersonal and written writing skills

  • Have good numerical, logical, organisational and analytical skills

  • You will be computer literate

  • Experience of working directly with customers would be a great asset

  • Experience of testing or calibration activities will be looked upon favourably
