Job Description
Main duties will include:
- To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
- To work in accordance with written protocols
- To pull/update and file patient records as necessary
- Organisation of patient written records to enable summarising before filing
- fax and photocopy as required
- Receiving patients consulting with members of the Practice team
- Handling completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address
- Be able to cover all reception tasks as necessary
- Attending meetings as required
- Process appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person
- Deal with visit requests
- Respond appropriately to patients’ queries
- Accurate recording and timely passing on of messages, ensuring audit trail is maintained
- Registrations of new patients - computer data entry and medical records
- Process patients change of address - computer data and medical records (have knowledge of Practice area)
- Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice guidelines
- Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours
- Holding keys and being responsible, on occasion for opening up or securing the premises
- Have knowledge of fire alarm system and deactivation/reporting
- Have knowledge of significant event reporting systems and report appropriately
- Any other duties that my from time to time be required

- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word and Excel
