Job Description
This is an opportunity for an apprentice to learn general engineering and machining skills with a view to eventually becoming a CNC Machinist/Programmer.
Main duties will include:
- Milling
- Turning
- Bench fitting
- Health and Safety
- Set & run CNC turning & machining centre
- Daily/monthly maintenance requirements of machines
- Solving production/process problems
- Monitor CNC machines & work in progress
- In progress quality assurance, including first off inspection
- Operating & using quality/inspection equipment

- Demonstrate initiative / common sense

- An ability to pay close attention to detail
- A commitment to keep up to date with industry developments
- Good communication skills
- A thorough understanding of safety rules and regulations
Future Prospects :
The apprenticeship can allow you to progress through the academic route and ultimately get a degree in engineering. However just having the apprenticeship alone provides a fantastic steppingstone for your career and will enhance your opportunities in the engineering world.
