Job Description

At Willenhall E-ACT Academy, we know that the life chances of our pupils are determined by inspirational staff like you.



We’re searching for an Admin Apprentice who will play a key role in managing a resource function



Main activities:




  • Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors

  • Welcome visitors to the academy entering via reception

  • Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc.

  • Assisting with arrangements for visits by school nurse, photographer etc.



Administration:




  • Provide routine clerical support, e.g. photocopying, filing, emailing, completion of routine forms

  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems

  • Undertake typing, word-processing and other IT based tasks

  • Produce spreadsheets for analysis

  • Ability to interrogate and produce reports from Sims for leaders

  • Produce leaflets and posters enhancing displays within the academy

  • Input data onto the computer system as required

  • Sort and distribute mail

  • Undertake routine administration e.g. registers, copying, production of letters for approval

  • Under the direction of the Headteacher’s PA provide accurate, efficient administration support to senior leaders



Resources:




  • Operate office equipment, e.g. photocopier, computer, fax

  • Arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies

  • Undertake routine financial administration as required

  • Ability to relate well to children and adults

  • Ability to identify own training and development needs and cooperate with means to address these

  • Take responsibility and accountability

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude including suggesting solutions, participating, trusting and encouraging others and achieving expectations.

  • Is adaptable to change / embraces and welcomes change

  • Works well under pressure



Skills Required :

  • Keyboard/computer skills

  • Good telephone manner

  • Good organisational skills
