Job Description

This is an opportunity to join a warm and welcoming staff team, in a community based school rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted (June 2018). Our school was re built in 2011 and offers a high quality, attractive learning environment.



Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:



Organisation:




  • Undertake general reception duties, making and taking telephone calls, taking messages, face-to-face enquiries, liaising with relevant staff, outside agencies, parents, sharing with visitors etc.

  • Providing hospitality e.g. for meetings

  • Assist with school events e.g. photographer visits and school fayres

  • Escorting visitors and contractors around the school



Administration:




  • Provide general clerical / administration support e.g. filing, photocopying, complete standard forms

  • Maintain manual and computerised records / management information systems. Produce lists, information, data as required e.g. pupil information

  • Undertake IT tasks such as recording attendance and school meals

  • Sort and distribute mail

  • Maintain and collate pupils’ reports



Resources:




  • Operate relevant equipment, IT packages (E.G. Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets, internet)

  • Maintain stocks and supplies, re-ordering when requested

  • Producing classroom resources and assisting with displays

  • Undertake general administration for ordering and deliveries



Responsibilities:




  • Be aware of and comply with policies for safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person

  • Be aware of and support difference and support opportunities for all

  • Contribute to the overall ethos / aims of the school

  • Support the role of other professionals

  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings, training and performance development as require

Skills Required :

  • Sound knowledge using computers and ICT

  • Use of relevant equipment/resources

  • Good keyboard skills

  • Knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

  • Ability to identify your own training and development needs and cooperate with means to address these

  • A friendly disposition and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
