Job Description

Delegate Sales Executive for an established global events business who specialise in creating and delivering international B2B conferences & Exhibitions. You be working within a successful & ambitious team of events professionals who have created a positive and supportive working environment which suits bright & driven graduates. Excellent training and long term career development opportunities are (in the UK & International offices).



The Job



You will be trained and supported to develop your telephone sales skills so you can successfully sell delegate tickets and VIP Passes to senior business professionals for large scale Conferences & Exhibitions. These events are held in the UK, Europe and internationally. You will be making lots of telephone calls, promoting the event, discussing the content and highlighting the benefits of attending. This is a fast paced, high energy sales role which provides you with great knowledge to further develop your career in events sales, marketing or conference production.



Your main responsibilities will be:




  • Identifying, contacting and securing paying & VIP delegates to attend large scale UK, European or international conferences & exhibitions

  • Researching and understanding the industry sectors you are covering

  • Highlighting the features & benefits of each event to professional business delegates over the phone selling the benefits of attending

  • Building a network of professionals and generating new leads

  • Cross selling across other company events

  • Updating the database

  • Working as part of a collaborative team of events professionals; supporting each other and working as a team

  • Achieving (and exceeding!) your targets and working within agreed deadlines



This position requires self motivation, a passion to achieve and determination to make things happen.



The Person



For this role you need to have completed a degree however, our client is open to the level you join at - you could be a fresh grad, be working in a similar B2B sales role (recruitment, media sales, telesales) or be working as a delegate sales exec in another events business. They are looking for transferable skills, positive attitude and willingness to learn. This company likes to see CV’s which show ambition, professionalism, achievements, commitment and determination.



Key skills:




  • Confident and comfortable selling over the phone to senior professionals. You will spend 2-3 hours of your day on the phone talking with professionals from major industries so; confidence, credibility and the ability to engage over the phone is essential

  • An inquisitive nature, willingness to learn and ability to engage conversation is essential

  • Able to research and analyse information

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Motivation & ability to prioritise tasks and organise your time effectively

  • Drive & ambitious to succeed - constantly achieve targets and meet deadlines

  • Self-motivated, team player and supportive attitude

  • Positive, forward thinking and able to overcome difficulties
