Job Description

Duties will include:




  • To assist in carrying out heating and ventilation control systems including air and ground source heat pumps, heat recovery ventilation, gas boilers, hot and cold water systems, radiators, underfloor heating and ancillary components

  • To assist in carrying out solar PV and battery storage installations

  • To assist in carrying general electrical works as needed

  • To be able to install and repair a full range of heating and ventilation system controls and learn to undertake general electrical work

  • Generally the Apprentice will be supervised by a senior engineer but as experience and skills develop will work more independently. When required they must be able to exercise discretion in deciding the best course of action when work to be carried out

  • You will need the ability to interact suitably with customers, provide excellent customer service, read technical plans, be able to work in tight spaces and have a good head for heights. You will also need to be a team worker and will be travelling from job to job



You would work up to 40 hours week with some daily flexibility required (and in return we will be flexible with you).



If we have a particular project deadline you might sometimes have to work extra hours.




  • You will undertake a formal Electrical apprenticeship but will also gain experience and learn about heating, ventilation and other relevant technologies

  • Complete work to a high standard of quality and output

  • Liaise with colleagues/contractors from all trades for the completion of jobs

  • Minimise disruption, mess and dust to the customer premises and possessions and leave the inside in a clean and tidy condition using cleaning materials and equipment as necessary

  • Be aware of and adhere to all relevant Regulations, Codes of Practice, Standards and industry best practice relevant to the electrical, heating and renewables trade discipline

  • Not to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, use bad language, play radios, etc., or use customer facilities without permission. Any evidence of drug or alcohol abuse will result in formal action being taken

  • Carrying out work having due regard to legislation, relevant health and safety codes of practice and regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment

  • Complete documentation and records including time monitoring sheets to enable the accurate billing and job costs

  • Handle, store and secure Trusted Energy’s vehicles, goods, materials, equipment, tools and records

  • Participating in vocational and non-vocational training and courses



Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
