Global Power Solutions Division (GPSD)Electric Power Division (EPD) deliver operational excellence in manufacturing diesel and gas driven generating sets and equipment. Wwe currently have an exciting opportunity for an industrial placement student to join our large electric power team based in Llarne. The roleit will be based in our manufacturing team, working with others across our organizsation , and you will be directly involved and at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects driving continuous improvement, efficiency gain and cost reduction.

What experiences can you offer me?

The manufacturing engineering team are responsible for leading production employees to execute the assembly, test and paint processes within the manufacturing facility, to deliver a world-class product to our customers. This role utilises the Caterpillar Production System (Lean Manufacturing) Principles to deliver People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) improvements and results.

During the placement, you will be based within the Manufacturing Engineering team working on real projects, alongside experienced manufacturing engineers and will be responsible for:

  • Gaining first-hand experience of Lean Manufacturing principles,
  • Supporting efficiency improvement initiatives at the facility
  • Updating production standard work documentation.

You will be required to interact and liaise with other departments internal and external to the business.

You will be given all the support you require to be successful in your placements.

For the role, you should be on track or have achieved a 2:21 in one of the following degrees:
