Security Engineer (Graduate Opportunity) - Edinburgh

Successful candidates are trained and supported to become multi-faceted and multi-skilled troubleshooters over an array of systems. The Engineer role within Adarma is a great entry-level position but is also available to those with more experience and it provides a good opportunity for moving into Cyber Security Consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

This position works with a variety of customers to provide troubleshooting, problem solving and configuration of security technology within customer environments.This will involve extensive training and development, starting with you gaining professional accreditations with your designated security technology stream.

  • Security platform integration.
  • Develop and support development of Security Use Cases, Security Rules/Policies/Responses.
  • Data onboarding and performance tuning of SIEM/SOC solutions
  • Perform management, maintenance and ongoing development in support of Adarma services, across a range of technologies

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • IT Security or IT/CS undergraduate degree with security modules, candidates with Mathematics and Physics degrees will be considered too if they can show interest and commitment to Cyber Security
  • System administration exposure: Linux/Windows
  • Exposure to concepts of Scripting and coding
  • Experience of working within team-based environment
  • Experience of handling complex tasks
  • Demonstrable project work experience either from education or career
  • Excellent customer relationships skills

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Security Operations Centre/SOC
  • Awareness of Data Analytics, Data Science, Threat Intelligence
  • Python or Bash
  • Experience in production environments using Linux/Windows
  • Exposure in the following areas: Process Maturity/Control, Performance Management Dashboards & KPI's, Security Monitoring, Vulnerability Management, Security Architecture, Threat Intelligence, Risk and Compliance Management, PCI DSS and ISO 27001
