McDonald's is offering an exciting and unique placement opportunity for progressive farmers of the future.
The 52 week programme aims to develop a forward-thinking mind-set by providing a full programme of practical experience within the supply chain, from farm to front counter.
McDonald's in conjunction with their suppliers, will offer you training that will equip you with the knowledge and practical expertise required to successfully work on farm and in the wider the supply chain.
Principle Responsibilities
As a placement student in this role, you will receive a thorough overview of the McDonald's supply chain and the suppliers' unique businesses.
In addition you will gain experience of both business management and practical farming under the supervision of a progressive farmer and an industry leading supplier.
Throughout the placement you will be expected to undertake specific projects to gain a better understanding of technical efficiency within the supply chain and actively work on farm for an eight month period.
You may also be required to undertake some communication activity.
There are nine placement positions available in various locations across the UK and Ireland:
- Pork
- Dairy UK
- Dairy Ireland
- Beef UK
- Beef Ireland
- Potatoes
- Chicken UK
- Chicken Northern Ireland
- Eggs

Relationships
You will be working within the McDonald's Supply Chain and will spend time with by an industry leading McDonald's supplier and a progressive farmer. You will also have the opportunity to work with a number of different suppliers, farmers and stakeholders around the country.
Knowledge and Experience
We are looking for a full time undergraduate studying at college or university within the UK or Ireland. You will need to be 18 years of age or over and passionate about a career working practically on farms and within our agriculture supply chain.
You will have good social skills and the ability to use your initiative and think creatively to find practical solutions. You will have a keen interest in agricultural supply chain, want to gain experience in practical farming and will have the ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
