As an Environment placement student, you'll have exposure to a variety of engineering and multidisciplinary designs across a range of challenging and exciting projects in the UK.

Where could I work?

As a placement student you could find yourself in one of the following business areas:

Infrastructure

Summer placement locations: Birmingham, Exeter, Oxford, Warrington

Industrial year locations: Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Epsom (Surrey), Oxford, Peterborough, Warrington

Degree requirements: On track to achieve a minimum 2.1 Bachelor's or 2.2. Master's degree in environmental science, ecology, geography, hydrology, flood risk or a relevant scientific, design or engineering discipline.

Whether it's an airport, a reservoir, a transport interchange or a university campus, we work with our clients in the UK and around the world to provide innovative design solutions, research and advisory services for a sustainable future. Operating at the interface between people and the natural environment we work across a range of markets including water, cities and development, transport, aviation and energy. Using the latest digital technologies and approaches, we make spaces and places work perfectly for people and the environment, while safeguarding our natural resources, to create a better, more sustainable future for all. We are looking for student passionate about water management, flood risk, contaminated land, hydrogeology, environmental impact assessment and consenting (to name just a few of our service lines) to join our multi-disciplinary teams around the country.

Nuclear and Power

Summer placement locations: Bristol

Industrial year locations: Bristol

Degree requirements: On track to achieve a minimum 2.2 Master's/MEng degree in a relevant Environmental, Science or Nuclear related degree discipline.

Our environmental team in Bristol work on radioactive waste management, radiological protection and UK nuclear environmental legislation across new build, generation and decommissioning markets in the nuclear industry. We provide solutions to our clients to ensure they safely manage radioactive waste, and protect their workers, the public and the environment from radiation exposure and contamination. We are instrumental in the delivery of environmental permit applications for nuclear new build operators and we utilise our UK regulatory requirement expertise to support nuclear reactor vendors through their Generic Design Applications. We also provide permitting support and advice for other types of sites. Some of our key clients include; Sellafield, EDF generation, NNB GenCo, Horizon Nuclear Power and Magnox. You will learn how workers, the public and the environment are kept safe in the nuclear industry and apply your knowledge to recommending solutions in line with UK best practice and environmental legislation to make sure this happens. We are looking for candidates on track to achieve an Environmental Science degree ideally, or a Physics/Chemical/Chemistry degree, with modules in the relevant field.
