Job Description

As a Chemical and Process Engineering placement student you will help to support and deliver the technical aspects of a variety of Chemical and Process engineering and multidisciplinary designs across a range of challenging and exciting projects. We operate across a range of markets including Cities & Development, Energy, Environment & Geoscience, Transportation and Water.

Whether it's the design of an airport, bridge, railway station, university campus, nuclear power station or an offshore windfarm, you'll help us to deliver outstanding projects that respond to the needs and resources of a contemporary world. Infrastructure

Summer placement locations: Belfast, Peterborough and Warrington

Industrial year locations: Belfast and Warrington

Degree requirements: On track to achieve a minimum 2.2 Master's/MEng degree in Chemical or Process Engineering

Nuclear and Power

Summer placement locations: Bristol

Industrial year locations: Bristol

Degree requirements: On track to achieve a minimum 2.2 Master's/MEng degree in Chemical and Process Engineering

We are the team that engineer, deliver, manage and decommission nuclear facilities worldwide, using the latest technology solutions to ensure the lights stay on and the world remains a safe place.
Our power business has been delivering mechanical, electrical, civil and structural engineering services to the global power sector for over 20 years. We're now leaning into new energy challenges such as offshore generation and transmission, energy from waste, electric vehicle infrastructure and the integration of smart grid technology - helping to drive evolution in the power sector.

With an unwavering commitment to safety, quality and efficiency, we are well positioned to add value to today's challenges of delivering the next generation of nuclear power plants while at the same time maintaining the existing generating fleet and safely decommissioning legacy facilities. We're now looking to the future, working with Small Modular Reactor (SMR) developers to advance new designs and developing digital applications, such as virtual and augmented reality, for the nuclear industry.

Oil, Gas & Offshore Wind

Summer placement locations: Aberdeen

Degree requirements: On track to achieve a minimum 2.2 Master's/MEng degree in Chemical and Process Engineering

Within the Oil and Gas division, our operations focus on fixed and floating offshore structures, terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants and subsea pipelines. Having worked on thousands of oil and gas installations around the world, you'll join a team of over 20,000 experts located in North America, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK. We work across the life cycle of the oil and gas industry, finding innovative solutions to complex challenges through the increased use of digital and immersive technologies, and have worked on over 700 projects in the last five years all around the world. We have provided unrivalled technical expertise and support to the oil and gas industry for more than four decades. Our highly skilled teams are leading technical developments across the globe and, with our input, problems are solved and critical decisions are made with confidence.

What are we looking for?

  • Passion and understanding for working in a consultancy environment, with the ability to work with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Drive and determination
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the confidence to work on your own initiative or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions
