Trainee Junior Service Desk Technician - No experience required

Location: Aldgate, City of London, E1 8EU
Salary: circa £18,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2 weeks 7:00am - 3:30pm and 2 weeks 10:30am - 7:00pm

Your new role

We are recruiting for the role of Trainee Junior Technician in the Service Desk team. You will work as part of the Network Operations Centre assisting with the day to day running of the Service Desk; providing client support with a focus on providing a high level of customer service.

The Trainee Junior Service Desk Technicianrole will provide a good foundation for anyone looking to develop a career in providing support to customers. We will provide on the job training to bring you up to scratch on how to support customers and the technologies used.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling customer enquiries and network support issues using our ticketing system
  • Pro-active monitoring of alarms and traps for our customers via our network monitoring tools
  • Following process to ensure incidents and changes are directed to the right teams
  • Ensure issues are handled effectively by following our SLA Guidelines
  • Escalation of network faults/outages in accordance with Exponential-e procedures
  • Creating incident reports/notifications for customer distribution

What you'll need to succeed

To help continue with our world-class status, we need someone who can deliver excellence customer service. As a Trainee Junior Service Desk Technician you must be interested in IT/Networking and have excellent attention to detail.

Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional phone manner
  • Someone with a passion for working in the IT support field who is eager to learn and progress
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Flexible approach to work with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team with little supervision using own initiative
  • Responsible and willing to take ownership
  • Positive and professional attitude

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience working in a customer service role
  • Completed an IT/Networking course
