The Role:



To ensure the comfort and safety of all users of the facility and to provide excellent customer care (approximately 2/3rds of working time is spent poolside on lifeguard duties).



Main Duties will include:

Principle Duties:




  • To maintain vigilant supervision of pool users and ensure their safety at all times in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS)

  • To attend staff training as part of National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. To administer first aid, effect pool rescues and apply resuscitation as necessary

  • To deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner and to ensure the highest level of customer enjoyment and satisfaction, meeting the Customer Service Standards

  • To comply with the facility’s Health and Safety procedures at all times in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act; carry out regular inspections and report any maintenance issues using the appropriate procedures

  • To carry out cleaning duties to the highest possible standards

  • To prepare activity areas involving the setting up/dismantling of equipment safely, ensuring that all equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use

  • To coach courses when required

  • To carry out pool water quality and environmental tests, plus spa tests if necessary

  • To assist the Duty Manager with any tasks as requested

  • To attend regular team meetings, with feedback to the Duty Manager on any operational issues

  • To keep up to date with Company and local management communications in place in the facility on a daily basis (e.g.: notice boards, handover file, pigeonholes, e-news).

  • To comply with the Equal Opportunities and Equity Policy

  • To report any matter of concern to the Duty Manager immediately

  • To maintain any training requirements

  • To work as a team with colleagues in any area of the facility as required

  • To work at other Mytime facilities as required

  • To work shifts to cover the operating hours of the facility including evenings and weekends

  • Any other duties commensurate with the post



Building and Maintenance




  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the poolside, building and grounds

  • Completing daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance checks in line with manufacturer’s instructions and site-specific schedule

  • Effectively implement and monitor the company’s Health and Safety policy and associated procedures

  • Ensure that the buildings and grounds are maintained according to industry standards

  • To carry out all duties with regard to Health & Safety requirements and regulations according to the Health & Safety Policy



Customer Services




  • Promote an excellent standard of Customer Service operating in accordance with Mytime’s Code of Conduct and Customer Service Standards.

  • Develop, maintain and evolve good relations with existing Clients and stakeholder

  • To deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner at all times

  • To log and report all customer complaints and feedback

  • To support customers with queries


Personal Qualities :

  • Highly motivated self-starter with resilience and determination and the ability to see jobs through to completion

  • Must be able to attend evening and weekend meetings/events when required and travel between sites

  • Evidence of a personal commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining an up-to-date professional knowledge sufficient to be credible and effective source of advice

  • Whenever possible maintain flexible operating hours, adapting to unforeseen circumstances to suit the situation

  • Being a positive, motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and professional person

  • Must be a strong swimmer, due to the nature of the role

  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative

  • Motivated to serve the public and able to deliver excellent customer care

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Reliable and enthusiastic

  • Ability to work in a busy environment

  • Willingness to undertake any relevant training
