Job Description
Typical tasks will include:
All aspects of Construction work including
- Groundworks – footings and drainage
- Concreting
- Measuring the work area and setting out
- Mixing mortar (cement)
- Laying blocks and bricks and applying the mortar with a trowel
- Measuring and cutting blocks and bricks to size using hammers, chisels and power tools
- Checking that courses are straight using spirit levels
- Assisting other trades as necessary to ensure the build runs smoothly and efficiently
- Working in all weather conditions
- Ensuring the work area / site is clean and tidy

Skills & experience
This apprenticeship will commence in September 2019 and will involve one day per week Truro and Penwith College
You must be able to get to the Lelant area (or close to) and Truro and Penwith College either Penwith or Truro Campus.
The nature of the construction industry requires outdoor working and a strong work ethic.

- We are looking for someone who is well presented, enthusiastic who has a real desire to learn. You should be punctual, organised, disciplined, able to follow instruction, hardworking and enjoys the outdoors.

Future Prospects :
The Apprentice will be able to progress on to a higher hourly wage and promotions depending on performance and attitude displayed during training.
