Job Description

Digital Print/Finishing:




  • Produce highest quality print and finishing meeting a wide range of clients’ requirements

  • Offer advice to colleagues and clients adding value to projects undertaken by JRS

  • Maintain equipment to a high standard

  • Ensure corporate branding is followed and liaise with relevant individuals to communicate this

  • Expected to ensure critical deadlines are met, often through strict prioritisation and multi-tasking

  • Contribute to the evolution of the JRS production team and look at new initiatives that will enhance the services JRS provides

  • Ensure that printed products adhere to the corporate identities of the relevant organisation

  • Keep updated with the latest technology and ensure methods of working result in an optimum level of service

  • Contribute to the further development of wide format printing and finishing

  • Work flexibly between digital and wide format print and finishing, often multi-tasking to ensure deadlines are met



Communications:




  • To liaise with JRS colleagues on all aspects of design and digital print ensuring the artwork is suitable for the next process

  • To liaise with the Head of JRS Client Services in relation to scheduling and client issues

  • To ensure job bags contain an accurate reflection of the information provided by the client

  • To liaise with JRS colleagues giving technical advice and advising them of the best solutions


Personal Qualities :

  • An enthusiastic interest in digital and wide format print/finishing

  • A demonstrable ability to influence and persuade others with best advice

  • Excellent planning, including an ability to prioritise and manage complex activities in order to meet deadlines

  • Excellent attention to detail, working to a high degree of quality

  • A demonstrable ability to embrace change, learning new skills and equipment



Skills Required :

Essential:




  • To have an enthusiasm to work in a design and print environment

  • Computer literate and competent in use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent communication skills, being able to understand client specification and to influence the production methods using knowledge and experience

  • Strong organisational skills and time management to meet the demands of a busy production schedule



Desirable:




  • A good knowledge of various paper weights and sizes and wide format materials

  • A good working knowledge of industry related software that may include: Digital Storefront, Fusion Pro, Command Workstation, Prisma Prepare, Fiery, Acrobat
