Student Office Administrator

Our client, based in higher education are looking to recruit an Student Office Administrator to be based in the Student Office. The Student Office Administrator will be responsible to the Head of Student Administration and will undertake day-to-day student support. This involves working closely with the Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies, Senior Tutors, Admissions Tutor(s) and the Course Directors.

The post-holder will assist in the efficient administration of all undergraduate processes and record maintenance. You will be required to take some health and safety training courses.

  • Pay: £15.43 per hour

  • Duration: 3 Months
  • Hours: Full-time

Job Description:

  • To be part of a team that delivers effective and friendly management and execution of student administration tasks within the Department.
  • To assist the Student Office in the records keeping, including the production and dissemination of mark sheets.
  • Responsibility for archiving of student records.
  • To assist in the organisation of student activities on the Department's undergraduate courses including the allocation and tracking of coursework, and the management of optional course choices.
  • Responsibility for inputting coursework marks and the monitoring/tracking of coursework submissions.
  • To assist with the production and dissemination of clear and concise information to staff and students in a timely fashion using a variety of electronic and other media.
  • Responsibility of obtaining and updating the Department's undergraduate databases including Blackboard and other electronic and manual record-keeping systems.
  • To liaise with other College Departments.
  • To assist with booking rooms in the Department both for departmental and other College staff from other departments.
  • To undertake any necessary training and/or development.
  • To undertake appropriate administration tasks.
  • To attend relevant meetings.

Skills/Experience:

  • A clear understanding of the need for and practice of customer focus and customer relations skills.
  • Demonstrate experience of providing a customer-focused service.
  • Proven experience of working in an office environment.
  • Proven experience of electronic data management, Blackboard, Celcat and Oracle.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure with good personal organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage and respond to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent organisational skills in time management with a methodical approach and the ability to plan ahead.
  • Methodical and accurate data recording with excellent data entering and management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with student and staff at all levels.
