Job Description

Trainee Estimator / Quotations Administrator

Working as the Trainee Estimator / Quotations Administration you will support the Sales Manager in the production of timely and accurate quotations and costings to meet customers' requirements, focussing on customer quotation enquiries from start to finish.

DUTIES:

  • Receiving and logging customer quotation enquiries
  • Liaising with customers to discuss the quotations before estimating to ensure that requirements and specification are accurately interpreted
  • Creating quotations in line with Company processes
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stores to ascertain material pricing
  • Understanding and working within company margin requirements
  • Return pricing to customers as required
  • Following up on submitted quotes
  • Managing hand over of all quotations and supporting information to the relevant sales member and supporting during order mobilisation
  • Liaising with customers where necessary to resolve queries
  • Accompanying senior members of staff to site meetings
  • General office administration duties

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C above
  • 2 years minimum experience as a Trainee Estimator, Customer Services Advisor within a technical field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Highly numerate
  • An enthusiastic and positive approach, professional individual who takes pride in their work
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, hardworking and keen to learn
  • Ability to work well on own initiative and with others effectively in a small team
  • Preference given to those with CAD Experience in both 2D and 3D CAD packages or the ability to read technical drawings - although not essential
  • Preference given to those from a Technical Sales background

Salary range - £21,000 - £28,000
