Job Description

The setting is based in a family home. The chosen apprentice would be assisting childminding 7 children who vary in age, from 1 to 8. There is an emphasis on learning through play, and a passion about providing children with natural wooden toys and giving lots of opportunities for open ended play.

There is one full time vacancy available for the right person and would love someone to come and share ideas and make a truly positive impact on the children. The approach is laid back yet professional, knowledgeable yet friendly, and convenient yet loved by the children we look after. The role would be from 8:30am to 5pm, and consist of providing school runs, engaging activities, days out, nap times, fun, laughter, feed-back to parents, and lots more.

In return you are mentored through your studies, and be a true partner in helping you kick start your career with children and provide you with a great foundation of learning and experience for the future.

Being based in a family home has huge benefits compared to a nursery, some of which are:

  • The routine is flexible, and every day is definitely different

  • We’re able to truly work in partnership with parents, offering a home away from home where the children can feel relaxed and engaged

  • We build real bonds with the children we look after, and have lots of time to observe them as they reach and exceed their milestones

  • We’re much more flexible than a nursery setting, and offer real value for money and convenience for local parents

Personal Qualities :

  • Reliable

  • Passionate about enabling children to achieve their potential

Skills Required :

  • Creativity and imagination

  • To work with children and their families in a sensitive and positive way

  • Good communication skills

  • An interest in child development
