A Junior Data Analyst job in Manchester

Your new company
You will be working for a commercial, forward thinking organisation, who have created a new role which is focused on putting data at the heart of decisions around the customer. Utilising the data, this team play a key role in shaping the understanding of the customer and the marketing journey they take. Through the manipulation and interpretation of data you will build this key insight through a range of analysis, reporting and storytelling which drives decision making within the business.

Your new role

  • Become an expert in the core databases that Marketing require to build reports and facilitate insight output.
  • Through the use of data develop a strong understanding of the customer and the activity / journeys.
  • Develop and maintain customer insight, giving a clear view of changes in customer behaviour
  • Contribute to the understanding of key patterns in customer life cycles, including acquisition, retention and life time value
  • Support the business through analysis to support drive changes within marketing, the product and processes that drive efficiency
  • Feedback on processes that need changing to ensure high quality data to support all insight work
  • Ensure all insight created is being used effectively around the business, and that there is a mechanism of feedback to allow continuous improvement
  • Support the implementation of the business strategy


What you'll need to succeed

  • Hold a numerate degree that involves a high level of Statistics or Operational Research (Or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience of data manipulation and mining in a previous role
  • Experience in building and maintaining reports
  • Working experience in a commercially driven team
  • Accurate and persistent with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Confident in data mining and analyse databases to build insight; preferably using one of the following SAS, SQL, Python or R (desirable)
  • Proficient in the use of general computing packages.
  • Have the confidence and ability to communicate the insight found within reports through effective story-telling.


What you'll get in return
You will be offered a salary of up to £24,000 with other excellent benefits including formal training and apprenticeships, as well as training on SAS, Power BI and other highly used tools. Further information on benefits can be discussed on application.
