Job Description

The successful candidate will undertake a wide variety of roles during their apprenticeship. Below is a list of duties the apprentice will be responsible for:




  • Support work on the new website – eg testing user journeys, organising user testing etc

  • Research national initiatives / trending hashtags to help us communicate effectively through our social media channels

  • Social listerning for Waverley – check relevant social media accounts for comments to flag to the team

  • Add images to our photo library and ensure photo permission forms are also saved.

  • Adding news stories to the intranet - the Council’s internal website

  • Monitor emails to communications inbox and flag work to relevant officer

  • Create basic posters for internal communications

  • Contribute to internal communications newsletters

  • Possible opportunity to write basic press releases and create basic content for social media (depending on level of literacy)

  • Book meetings, take notes and type up actions from meetings

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Prompt in responding to inquiries

  • Able to accurately record customer’s requests
