Job Description
To train and establish competency to become an outstanding Sport Activity Professional in Tandridge through assisting the delivery of and delivering physical activity & school sport to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL, (Out Of School Hours Learning) extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and in school holiday periods.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Daily Tasks
- Carry out a range of administrative duties
- Build personal portfolio
- Upload information using ICT
- Travel to a variety of different schools Driving Licence and own transport is essential.
- Ensure all company procedures are adhered to
- Plan lessons/sessions/activities
- Assist in PE/PA/Coaching Sessions/Lessons both practical and theory
- Deliver extra-curricular activities
- Establish good working relationships with staff/schools/parents & children, acting as a role model.
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children, self-esteem and independence.
- To administer basic first aid where appropriately trained.
- Promote and control positive behaviour of children
- Set up and arrange safe and legal activities/events
Weekly Tasks
- Deliver sessions
- Keep up to date with personal portfolio and apprentice tasks
- Check / maintain First Aid kit
Half Term Tasks
- Deliver on Sports Camps inspiring young children and promoting healthy lifestyles and fitness.
- Support any tasks set by Head Coaches
TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED (apprenticeship position)
- Bespoke training programme that meets the Community Activator Coach apprenticeship standard criteria and the employer requirements for the role.
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting the Learning in PE and School Sport (additional qualification)
- OCR Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (if necessary)
GCSE's - C or above in English and Maths (preferred)
A levels or equivalent (preferred)
Coaching qualifications / experience (preferred)
Driving Licence (required)
Qualifications
- If successful, you must have permission to work in the UK by the start of your employment
- You must have a UK driving licence
- You must be able to speak English fluently
- You must be currently living within a commutable distance of this vacancy
