Job Description

General Administrative Tasks:





  • To gain experience and become competent in the accessing, processing and analysing data




  • To gain experience and become competent in coordinating activities and utilising SharePoint, Outlook and other systems to manage these




  • To gain experience of using Social Media to engage with businesses and communities




  • To gain experience and become competent in producing Word documents




  • To gain experience of attending meetings and taking notes




  • To undertake general office duties as required (i.e. post, stationery ordering, filing, photocopying)




  • To use other WINDOWS or database applications as required




  • To receive and screen enquiries from visitors or via telephone calls, provide appropriate advice or redirect as appropriate





Training will be given in the following:





  • The use of NFRS systems to advertise, access and process data, to engage with businesses and partners and send correspondence to other parties




  • Producing letters and other associated documents in accordance with NFRS Corporate style




  • The use of the CFRMIS, Outlook and SharePoint systems to coordinate work with other departments




  • Carrying out administration in relation to meetings, including room bookings, sending invitations, taking and issuing minutes




  • Deliver high standards of grammar and attention to detail in all materials produced, and maintain standards relating to equality and accessibility, to reflect positively on the reputation of NFRS with colleagues, businesses, partners and the general public




  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of work as required by Service policies and procedures




  • Any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties, responsibility and grade of the post defined

Skills Required :

  • Experience of using Windows applications to produce documents

  • Ability to draft basic letters

  • Willingness to learn

  • Understanding of Windows applications, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Understanding of Social Media platforms



GCSE in maths & English Language (A-C 9-4 pass or equivalent)
