Job Description

This is a full-time permanent job giving you the opportunity to learn a skillset alongside experienced industry professionals where the learning is completed during your employment whilst you are earning a wage. The apprenticeship will take twelve months to complete. 



After successfully completing this programme you will become a fully qualified LGV driver and your wages will increase.



You will represent our business in the view of our customers and the public.



Duties to include:




  • Conduct yourself in line with company values and vision at all times

  • Chatting to our customers when completing drop offs

  • Comply with the laws of the road

  • Navigating around Nottingham and surrounding areas

  • Driving our van fleet making small local drops

  • Buddying up with an experienced driver as a driver’s mate

  • Drivers must be physically fit enough to lift heavy furniture


Personal Qualities :

  • Diligent, enthusiastic, eager to learn and provide great customer service

  • Strong work values — dependability, honesty, self-confidence and a positive attitude

  • Willingness to learn and progress to becoming an LGV driver

  • Can-do, will do mindset with an adaptable and flexible approach to work



Skills Required :

  • You will be working as part of a small team, normally 2 people in one vehicle so you must have good team working skills

  • You must be comfortable with heavy lifting

  • Be able to cope with meeting delivery deadlines and collections

  • Communication skills together with good written and verbal skills

  • Ability to work independently and under own initiative

  • Computer literacy to be able to complete the online tasks



Future Prospects :

Once you have achieved your Class 2 licence, you can then go on to gain your class 1. You can also go down the path of becoming a team leader or transport manager.
