Assistant Project Manager (Entry Level to 3 Years' Experience) - Dynamic and Growing Consultancy - Residential Construction
North East England

£20,000 to £28,000 Salary Plus Benefits

Our client is an extremely well-respected, construction & property consultancy who have experienced strong growth for several years. They currently employ over 30 people and across their offices in the UK and work extensively across the North East in the following sectors:

High-end residential builds to affordable housing, University major estates team and commercial office build.

They have a dynamic fun team and are seeking to add additional heads to the team at multiple levels and in multiple disciplines to accommodate their growth.

We are now seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a Director in managing the major and most prestigious schemes for the company.

This is very much a development opportunity for the right candidate. It is planned that the role will develop into a full Project Manager position in the medium term where you will run your own projects and smaller packages of works for the much larger projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of projects both pre and post-contract across a number of sectors;
  • Develop programmes, using Microsoft Project;
  • With guidance, develop and manage project cash flows and drawdown reports as required;
  • Prepare project management reports, that reflect project status, risk and progress against the programme for Senior review / sign-off;
  • Provide support on project management commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect (or aspects) of service delivery;
  • Assist with the preparation of contracts for commissions, for senior review / sign-off;
  • Ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards;
  • With guidance from the Senior lead, provide Employer's Agent / Contract Administrator services;
  • Gain an understanding of the Construction Contract to enable the above services to be delivered;
  • Support in the appointment and coordination of other consultants and contractors where required;
  • Prepare agendas, minutes and supporting documents for meetings as required;

Essential Experience:

  • You may currently be an Assistant Project Manager wanting to gain faster progression or a Graduate seeking their first development role.
  • For graduates, we are ideally seeking a degree related to construction or strong project management experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate professionalism with a willingness to learn.
