Job Description

Duties to include:




  • Ensure sufficient work effort is applied to achieve targets set / workload is completed within the given timescale

  • Repair and maintain Jigs and fixtures to a high standard

  • Ensure tools are scheduled to meet Production requirements

  • Competently operate a range of metal removal equipment including conventional and CNC millers, lathes, surface grinders and drills. Accurately use a range of equipment to carry out a variety of bench / tool fitting work

  • Maintain an adequate supply of tooling spares and consumables / materials.

  • To assist in production and maintenance requirements where general machining is necessary

  • Ensure all equipment/work tooling is kept in a good state of repair. Any maintenance issues should be promptly reported to Supervisor

  • Provide regular feedback to Supervisor regarding status/progress of work carried out.

  • Undertake a variety of jobs, in some cases with limited instruction or information from the customer

  • Knowledge and experience using micrometres, depth micrometres and gauges

  • Manually machine components to engineering specifications

  • Working to quality standards required for the components

  • Ensure you adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures

  • Working to given time scales

  • Work alongside skilled Machinists to provide you with the knowledge needed to become fully trained

  • You will also be expected to respond quickly to changing demands throughout your working day
