Job Description

A market leading manufacturer of chemical products is looking for the ERP Intern to assists Business Systems Team in the overall development and maintenance of ERP applications alignment with ongoing business systems strategic programmes and provide IT support to the end users. The ERP Intern logs and carries out system change requests and testing to help to resolve issues and optimise processes.

Key tasks:

  • Acts as an ERP technical resource within wider IT team
  • Assists with the resolution of issues, inefficiencies and/or improvements in applications, procedures and processes, and supports with the implementation of improvement/enhancements.
  • Ensures Business systems (BS) requests are logged, prioritised, reviewed, approved and resolved internally or in collaboration with vendors to a high standard in a timely fashion, escalating to ERP Analyst or Business Services Manager as required.
  • Assists with the provision of end user and internal IT training on business systems.
  • Active involvement and input into various ongoing business systems projects.
  • Audits and analyses data quality and integrity and issues corrective guidance to data owners. Makes recommendations for new controls and processes to improve quality where appropriate.
  • Maintains BS processes, policies and control documentation.
  • Collaborates with the BSM to help execute the annual and long-term BS strategic programme.
  • Maintains a current skillset and investigates new and emerging system trends and technologies for possible application to EIMEA's present and future needs.
  • Works with business systems team to plan, test and validate systems upgrades.
  • Adheres to SOX and other business controls in the execution of the function to ensure they are operated effectively, and annual audits are passed.
  • Performs other related activities as needed to support corporate objectives.
  • Acts in the best interest of the company by applying stated corporate values and priorities to all communications, decisions, and actions.

Skills and experience:

  • Computing qualification with a strong emphasis on C# programming
  • Training in relevant ERP software or equivalent to a high level of technical knowledge - desirable
  • Current technical certification(s) would be ideal but not required.
  • Experience of managing and supporting databases, preferably Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience of C# programming language.
  • Experience of translating complex technical concepts and information to usable guidance for non-technical users.
  • Experience of implementation, testing and use of software applications.
