Job Description




This Traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is the Work Preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement. 



Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital Skills and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job. 



This Traineeship Opportunity is unwaged. 



Are you eligible? 




  1. Are you currently not in a job? Do you have little or no work experience? 

  2. Are you aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 3 (A level)?



Your work placement will be for 3 weeks and will take place with a local construction company, enabling you to put into practice the skills you have gained and get the invaluable experience needed to go into the construction industry.



Your day to day tasks may include:




  • Assisting the skilled trades people in all aspects of their work

  • Manual handling

  • Movement and storage of building materials and equipment

  • Using hand and power tools

  • Basic construction duties


Personal Qualities :

  • Motivated

  • Interest in working outdoors

  • Willing to learn and work hard

  • Attention to detail



Skills Required :

  • Good co-ordination

  • Interest in practical activities

  • Communication 

  • Timekeeping 

  • Reliability



Future Prospects :

After successful completion of the Traineeship course, you will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of reference as a minimum, to support future job applications.



You will have a guaranteed interview at the end of your traineeship, giving you the opportunity to find a career within the construction industry, either to start an apprenticeship to further your skills and knowledge, or to go straight into employment.
