Job Description

Trainee UPS Service Technician - Scotland

£28000-£32000 Travel time O/T Company Vehicle

OTE £40000 to £45000

My client is looking for a 2391 (or equivalent) qualified electrician, with up to 2 years experience post qualification, for a Trainee UPS Field Service Technician role, with lots of drive, energy, a willingness to learn and to start an exciting new career.

My client is a growing UK subsidiary of a global Uninterruptible Power Supply manufacturer, with 30 years in the industry, they are perfectly placed to train and develop your career in critical power. Full factory support from their parent company allows them to provide first class product training to their employees, who can then provide the highest level of service to their clients. My client works with many blue chip and household name brands across sectors such as telecoms, banking, pharmaceutical, defence, healthcare and many more.

You will be working in the field, covering the whole of Scotland, but mostly Glasgow and Edinburgh. Ideally you will live in or around Glasgow.

You will need to be flexible, as this is not the usual 9 to 5 job, with early mornings, late evenings and weekends, and you will be on the road going to customer sites, but if you are willing to learn and put in the effort, it can be extremely rewarding both mentally and financially.

On top of an excellent basic salary, there will be door to door travel time, plenty of overtime, including weekends & overnight stays, with an annual on call allowance after a year. The basic salary is £28000 to £32000, but you are likely to earn OTE £40,000-£45,000 (depending on basic salary and overtime worked)

Full product training is provided and is made up of occasional training courses at their HQ and ongoing on the job training delivered by a Senior Technician. Formal academic electrical/electronic courses such as ONC/HNCs can be provided on a paid day-release basis for the right candidates on completion of a probationary period.

Over your first two years you can expect to rapidly expand your knowledge of both power electronics and the critical power industry as a whole.
