Graduate Sales Intern / Trainee Sales Executive required for a company who are specialists in the sale of Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials, working with and selling to Universities, Research Institutes, Design Engineers, Manufacturers, Academic & Commercial Research and Development Co's, End Users and other similar types of customer.
An exciting opportunity for a Graduate Intern to join this friendly, outgoing team who are passionate about providing an excellent standard of customer service and developing new business.
You should be looking to pursue a career in sales and either be an undergraduate looking for a summer placement or recent graduate looking to gain work-based experience with the potential for a future permanent position. Your degree should be in the field of Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or Engineering. You will need a well-organised and intelligent approach to work and be happy to use your own initiative as well as being an integral part of our team.
Fixed term contract to mid-September 2019 with potential to become a permanent post. Immediate start.
Hours: 40 hours per week including one-hour lunch
Package: Basic salary £16500, pro-rated.

Job description: Graduate Sales Intern / Trainee Sales Executive
Based in Tamworth, close to M42, we specialise in the sale of Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials. We are a friendly team who are passionate about providing an excellent standard of customer service and developing new business.
As part of the Sales Team, you will be the initial point of contact for our equipment
customers - providing technical support, generating quotations, providing post-sales
customer service support and contacting existing customers to understand their future
buying requirements. Based primarily at our Tamworth Office there will be the opportunity to provide support to our Product Specialists at UK based events. We actively support staff development and you will receive ongoing support through our Company coaching and mentoring programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our Product Specialists to provide quotes and technical support to
our customers
- Update customers on delivery schedules
- Maintain and develop current relationships with existing customers and suppliers
- Maintain the sales CRM system
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be an ambitious individual who is committed to achieving high
standards throughout their work. They will have an excellent telephone manner and be
able to communicate intelligently, confidently and professionally.
The essential characteristics and skills required are:
- Highly motivated with a pro-active approach to workload
. An enquiring mind and desire to stay up to date with product developments
- An outgoing personality with strong organisational skills and a tenacious nature
- Able to build relationships quickly and effectively with colleagues and business
associates
- A sound knowledge of chemical formulae as well as metric and imperial units of
measurement
- Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
The desirable characteristics and skills are:
- A proven track record in sales either face to face or telesales
- Knowledge and experience of using CRM databases
- Ability to complete web-based research using, for example, LinkedIn and
ResearchGate
- An additional European language
