Job Description

Our client who specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of building envelopes and facades. Due to their ongoing success they require additional staff. They are one of the most respected specialist contractors in the UK, working with a broad range of blue chip contractors and clients in the UK.

They are looking to recruit a Traineer Quantity Surveyor based at their offices in the Warwickshire region.
This is initially a one-year on the job training scheme and upon successful completion you will go onto complete a 5-year Quantity Surveying (BSc) degree apprenticeship at Coventry University.

The duties of a Trainee QS involve supporting the Quantity Surveyor in ensuring that the project stays within the given budget to maximise profit and to build contractual relationships.

Working for the Contracts team you will be helping to manage the commercial aspects of the project; liaising with the site team; preparing and reviewing sub-contract tenders; managing the sub-contractor's work throughout; reporting on the financial progress of the project and generating valuations for the work done to date; overseeing the payment of the subcontractors and recording/monitoring general progress of the works. This role will involve travel to site on a regular basis, therefore a current UK driving licence is required.

·Permanent full-time hours (Monday to Friday)

You will ideally possess the following:
·3 'A' levels minimum BBC grades - including Maths or Business Studies (or equivalent)
·A keen interest in construction, particularly facades
·Commercially savvy
·Fantastic work ethic and motivation to learn
·Strong attention to detail
·Be a great communicator and a strong negotiator
