Daily responsibilities:
- Under the instruction of senior staff, provide routine general, clerical, administrative and financial support to the nursery
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children within the nursery
- To undertake reception duties, answering the telephone, face-to-face enquiries and signing in visitors
- To assist with first aid and welfare, liaising with parents, staff etc.
- Assist with arrangement for visits by outside agencies
- Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, e-mailing, complete routine forms
- Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems and creating reports
- Undertake typing, word processing and other ICT based tasks
- Sort and distribute mail
- Undertake routine administration

- An ability to be able to work as part of a team
- Be enthusiastic
Skills Required :
- Able to initiate and develop good working relationships with all members of the nursery community – children, families, staff and governors
- Ability to be a welcoming “front face” of the nursery, have a friendly and approachable manner, presenting a professional image and contributing to a positive nursery ethos
- Be able to follow instruction well and seek advice appropriately
- Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- To learn how to handle various situations, some difficult
- Report to line manager
- Be able to complete paperwork to a high standard
- Punctuality and good time keeping as well as a willingness to undertake relevant training and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is crucial to this role
- Good communication skills
- Good organisation skills
