Here at Hooftrek we are training a small herd of Welsh Mountain ponies to carry equipment for people hiking the trails through the Radnor Hills and Cambrian Mountains of MidWales. Through this, we hope to give the feral ponies a commercial purpose to enable the ever decreasing upland herds to regenerate and thrive. Much of the work will be exploring trails and training pack ponies. We are creating a business where people can come and spend time exploring the Welsh landscape with the ponies in their natural habitats. From shorter guided hikes to self-guided multi-day treks across the country, including a Trans Wales Pack Pony Trail.
We are now looking to expand our team, and need trail guides/trail guide assistants to help us throughout the summer. The positions are residential, and you will be staying in a comfortable farm house set in the hills.
