Job Description

What can you expect to do on a day-to-day basis?




  •  A fantastic working knowledge of the kitchen environment including all aspects of culinary, food safety, team work and business.

  • Learn how to create dishes using the correct methods.

  • A great working knowledge of allergens, diet and nutrition.

  • Keep a safe and hygienic working environment.

  • Ensure food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food.

  • Gaining a good understanding of kitchen equipment.

  • Becoming an important team member in a busy kitchen environment.

Skills Required :

  • A keen interest in cooking

  • Able to understand and follow instructions

  • Able to keep calm when working under pressure – the kitchen is a hot and hectic place during service periods

  • Hardworking and ‘can-do’ attitude

  • Good common sense and understanding of basic health and safety requirements – for example washing hands, clearing spills (more will be taught throughout the induction and on-going throughout the apprenticeship but a basis understanding from the outset is very important)
