Bid Co-ordinator Lead (Part Time)
Worthing, West Sussex

About Us

Established in 1991, Turning Tides is a community-led charity dedicated to ending homelessness. We empower homeless or insecurely housed individuals to achieve sustainable independent living.

We have gone from supporting a handful of people in the coastal town of Worthing to providing a range of services to over 1,700 people in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. We have over 5,000 supporters, 300 volunteers and 100 staff members to date.

We're now looking for a Bid Co-ordinator Lead to join our team in Worthing on a part time basis, working 22.5 hours per week over three days. Internally the role is known as a Business Development Lead.

The Benefits

- Salary of £30,000 (pro rata £17,994) per annum
- Stakeholder pension scheme
- 25 days' holiday (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays

This is the ideal role for someone with a background of business development or bid writing to progress their career with our outstanding charity.

Having worked tirelessly for nearly thirty years to combat homelessness, we have developed deep expertise in our sector as well as a range of services and accommodation to provide practical assistance.

You'll discover a passionate team who are driven by helping those in our communities who need it the most. So, if you are looking to give back, to do some good and to make a difference, this is the role for you.

Your Role

As the Bid Co-ordinator Lead, you will maximise opportunities for our organisation with larger trusts, grants, tenders and with a range of stakeholders.

Specifically, you will scope, plan and project manage tenders, allocating and co-ordinating responses and taking a hands-on approach to completing tenders and grants.

This role represents a great chance to make a difference to the lives of local people and the communities we work with.

Your role will also involve:

- Working closely with the Head of Development to maximise income generation
- Researching new funding opportunities to enable us to continue to deliver our services
- Leading on large trust and grant applications
- Writing significant portions of tenders
- Taking an innovative, creative approach to tender and proposal development
- Developing projects, proposals and ideas in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders

About You

To be considered as our Bid Co-ordinator Lead, you will need:

- Experience in a business development and/or bid writing role within the private, voluntary or public sector
- Demonstrable experience of securing new income to deliver services
- A proven track record in securing contracts and/or grant funding
- Good knowledge of funding sources for the public and/or voluntary sector including homelessness services

Other organisations may call this role Bid Co-ordinator Lead, Business Development Lead, Income Generation Manager, Grants Manager, Fundraising Manager, Fundraising Bid Manager, Bid and Tender Officer, or Fundraising Officer.

Please note, this is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week (ideally) over three days. For the right candidate, a flexible working pattern can be agreed at interview stage.
