Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure that all product is despatched accurately and efficiently.



Principle duties and responsibilities:




  • Work to agreed daily output targets

  • Responsible for getting work checked at each stage of the cycle

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the equipment used

  • Ensure that wastage is minimised

  • Ensure that customer instructions on the picking lists are followed at all times

  • Responsible for the picking and packing of stock for customer orders in time for despatch

  • Responsible for the storage and stock control of finished stock

  • Preparation and despatch of customer orders and ensuring special instructions are adhered to at all times.

  • Communicate with other departments including Goods Inwards for the supply of packaging and goods

  • Develop and improve the efficiency of the department

  • Ensure that all quality checks are completed accurately prior to the product leaving the section



Quality + ISO 9001:




  • Work to ISO methods and procedures at all times

  • Work to Quality systems and procedures

  • Follow method books when required



Health &Safety:




  • Ensure all machines and equipment are safe to use

  • Take responsibility for the health and safety of self and others working in the Production department

  • Report any health and safety problems to the Coordinators or Supervisor



Other duties:




  • Be flexible to work in other related departments when the needs of the business require it

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times

  • Any other duties that you are reasonably asked to undertake

  • Company handbook and policy and procedures

  • No smoking policy

  • IT, Communications and Social Media policy


Personal Qualities :

  • Desire to learn about all aspects of the business

  • Good communication skills are an essential part of this role



Skills Required :

  • The ability to read and understand written instruction is essential

  • Computer literacy would be advantageous



Future Prospects :

12 month minimum apprenticeship, following successful completion, a full-time position will be considered.
