Centre Manager for Summer Centres

Are you a calculated problem solver? Can you keep a cool head under pressure? If you’re able to inspire a large international team, troubleshoot a wide variety of problems, and most of all ensure that hundreds of students from all over the world have the best summer of their lives: then you could be the perfect Centre Manager for LSC in 2019!

The role
The Centre Manager is the key LSC member of staff on campus. They are charged with ensuring that the centre is a success, that the needs of our clients are satisfied and that our staff and facilities managers are happy at all times.

Duties will include:
>Attending the training days from June 6th-9th 2019, prior to employment commencing
>Ensuring the smooth running of each department
>Ensuring the completion of day-to-day administrative duties
>Liaising with the University regarding accommodation and meals
>Acting as a company representative to clients
>Managing the team of LSC staff
>Carrying out the school’s safeguarding policy, ensuring it is followed by others and maintaining a friendly but professional manner at all times
>Working with the Student Welfare Officer, Director of Studies and Group Leaders on all issues of student welfare/behaviour
>Ensuring that the centre complies to British Council accreditation standards

You
Previous experience of managing a British Council accredited centre is highly valued. The main requirement is the ability to manage a large team and the confidence to motivate them as well as teenage students and help them to enjoy their stay.

Essential
>Have a native level of English and legal right to work in the UK
>Have relevant experience of managing teams in residential summer schools or summer camps
>Be available the whole of July
>Have excellent interpersonal skills
>Be flexible and able to think on their feet
>Be able to work in a high-pressure environment
>Demonstrate proven organisational ability
>Be computer literate
>Managerial experience
>Strong motivational skills

Desirable
>Have a Degree, CELTA and a valid First Aid qualification
>Previous experience managing budgets
>Have a driving license

LSC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As part of our Safer Recruitment Policy you will be asked to explain any gaps in your work and education history. You will also be required to undergo a DBS Enhanced Disclosure check and provide the contact details of at least 2 referees, who will be asked specifically if they have any concerns about your suitability to work with people under 18. The cost of the DBS will be split between LSC and yourself, your contribution will be £24.40 and will be taken out of your first payment.

  • If successful, you must have permission to work in the UK by the start of your employment
  • You must be able to speak English fluently
