Job Description
Duties include:
- Implement and promote staff rules
- An understanding of children's development, their needs and the provision of positive play
- Take an interest in the children and their families, to treat them as individuals and with respect at all times
- Provide a warm and caring environment for babies
- Provide support for any children with special needs, promote their welfare and development
- Ensure positive management of children’s behaviour
- To carry out housekeeping duties as appropriate
- Adhere to the health & safety policy relating to play
- Ensure appropriate child protection procedures are in place
- Assist in the keeping of development records & observations
Personal Qualities :
- Be able to respect individuals needs and culture and requirements
- A caring and considerate person
- Enthusiasm is a must have
Skills Required :
- Be able to demonstrate that you can read effectively and are able to communicate clearly and accurately in spoken and written standard English
- To be flexible and adaptable and support other members of staff
- Good communication skills
- Good time keeping & attendance record
- Be able to use own initiative
Future Prospects :
On completion of the 12-month apprenticeship program, depending on performance, you may be offered the chance to progress on to a higher qualification or offered a full-time role at the Nursery.
