Do you want to kick start your career with an exciting opportunity in Sports Activity with M.A.P.S? We are looking for a keen and friendly trainee to join our team. Where you'll be gaining hands on experience and get the chance to help those with special needs achieve their goals. All whilst gaining a Sports Activity qualification.

M.A.P.S has been running since 2006, providing a positive outlook on life, all whilst helping our customers gain new experiences, as well as making new friends.



This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Traineeship with a fast-growing employer. Main duties are as follows:




  • Provide a high standard of customer service to all users of M.A.P.S.

  • Answer and handle or appropriately re-direct all enquiries in a professional and timely manner

  • Assist Activity Leaders within an educational environment in setting up equipment ready for active programmes

  • Lead & review activity programmes ready to improve future sessions

  • Support the work of the team and organisation as well as promoting the services to potential customers

  • Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation to users ensuring equality and diversity is promoted throughout the organisation



Activity Leadership Traineeships provide you with the knowledge and skills required to follow a career in the outdoor sector or in the active leisure sector as fitness activity leaders and coaches. The on programme learning for this traineeship is mainly through on the job experience within a work place environment, focused on gaining the knowledge and demonstrating the skills in several core areas



20% off the job training is required and is covered with theory delivery, shadowing, mentoring and coaching at our sites and in the workplace.



You’ll also study English and maths at a level to suit you. All Sports activity trainees will need to communicate effectively with clients to ensure they are able to follow instructions as well as develop their maths skills to measure out circuits as well as scheduling and timings of activities

Future Prospects :

This employer is looking for the young people that they

recruit to sustain a long-term career within sports and the

chance to develop and progress fulltime employment or

sports activity apprenticeships

Once fully qualified, Typical starting salaries for newly

qualified sports coaches working for local authorities range

from £15,000 to £25,000, depending on location and

qualifications. The typical salary range for senior coaches employed by National Governing Bodies (NGBs) or

professional sports clubs is £30,000 to £35,000.
