Job Description

You will be part of Steel Sections team, operating a range of machinery using the following in the Tool Room. While learning from the skilled employees that are working at Steel Sections.



The successful applicant will be shown how to  operate a cold roll forming machine.



You will learn the skills required to set the machine  for existing and new profiles  manufactured from strip coil.



Acquire the skills the carry out basic maintenance of the machine.



Trained in the use and setting up of power presses/cut off tools/assembling cut off tools  for each profile   cut  to length.,some maybe computerised and or involve pre piecing profiles.



The applicant should be able  work safely  in and around machinery  and have  good  common sense and a willingness to learn.



Some heavy lifting is involved , manual handling ,use of overhead  cranes  and safe use of power press courses will be available  for the successful applicant.



Operating machinery such as listed below:




  • Specialists Fabrications

  • Turning

  • Milling

  • Capstan drilling

  • Multi-spindle autos

  • Tube manipulation

  • Automatic sawing

  • Grinding

Skills Required :

  • Able to adapt and understand the industry you are going into is a practical and traditional part of engineering

Future Prospects :

You will be working towards a Level 2 qualification in engineering, if successful with this there is the opportunity of a permanent job or going on to complete a Level 3 qualification.
