Job Description
Duties to include:
- Supporting qualified staff in day to day routines of the childcare setting
- Supporting the learning and development of children aged 0 – 5
- Working as a member of a team
- Awareness of health and safety policies and procedures
- Complete any necessary paperwork e.g. child progress files, accident forms etc.
- You will work where directed within the age group that your supervisor requests
This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 5 years of age.
It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children’s settings including early years and social care.
Job role will include assisting with the daily routine of the nursery, meeting and greeting parents and children, snack and mealtimes (preparing and assisting feeding with babies), engaging with children during free-play and focused activities indoor and outdoor, nappies and changing, helping to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment for children being aware of safety and risks at all times.
Dealing with behavioural issues, working alongside qualified staff to understand the EYFS curriculum and be aware of the keyworker system, observations and planning to monitor areas of development. Attend staff meetings, parents evening, training courses such as first aid, safeguarding, food hygiene if required.
