Job Description

RBH are offering a fantastic opportunity to undertake a Traineeship where you will gain work experience and a Level 1 qualification, which will prove essential when applying for jobs giving you the skills and experience that employers are looking for.



During the 8 weeks you will work as a Trainee Receptionist/Guest Service Assistant in one of our popular hotels.



The duties will vary between the reception desk and bar/breakfast area so you will be trained on/will perform the below:




  • Check in, check out and room change procedures and ensuring all data are entered completely into the hotel systems in accordance with reservations

  • Daily based cashier check of all open balances, especially city ledgers

  • Maintains cashier float and ensues accurate daily report of all money receive

  • Handles the correct billing of guest expenses

  • Daily check of all departures, informing guests about the late check out costs and procedures

  • Taking F&B orders and potentially serving guests behind the bar

  • Supporting with breakfast by ensuring the buffet is regularly replenished, tables are cleared and wiped and set up again



Not only will you gain experience you will also gain a Level 1 Work Skills qualification which will help with searching for jobs, applying for jobs, completing application forms, build a C.V, write a cover letter, interview skills (preparing and carrying out interviews) and customer service, all of these skills will prove essential when applying for jobs.



After the 8 week programme there will be an end of programme lunch and you will also receive a free overnight dinner, bed and breakfast stay at one of our hotels for you and a family member!

Skills Required :

During the programme you will learn all the skills needed but you must have a desire to deliver excellent customer service, be willing to learn and show that you care.



Future Prospects :

After successful completion of the Traineeship course, you will receive a BTEC Level 1 Award, a certificate of completion and a letter of reference as a minimum, to support future job applications. You will be guaranteed an interview to go on to complete a level 2 Apprenticeship with us.
