Job Description

Ainsty Gymnastics & Trampoline Club are looking to recruit one Trampoline and Parkour Coach Apprentice. If you love Sports & Activities, this apprenticeship could help you build a career out of your passion!



This apprenticeship is for those who want to become an all-round fitness coach and work confidently in all areas of a multifunctional leisure facility.



Apprentices will develop the ability to design individually tailored exercise programmes and provide safe and effective exercise instruction on all types of fitness equipment; the expertise to coach group activity sessions to a variety of participants including children and young people; and the skills to confidently work on a reception area and deal with customer questions. 



They will work with both the Head of Parkour and Head of Trampoline to become a Senior Coach in both disciplines, comfortable in leading a lesson in either. 



Apprentices will be required the work at the following locations, so must have the ability to travel and access to transportation. 




  • Energise Leisure Centre in York YO24 3DX.

  • Huntington School, YO32 9WT

  • Vale of York Academy, YO30 6ZS

  • York Steiner School, YO10 4PB

  • Mount School, YO24 4DD

  • Archbishop Holgates School, YO10 5ZA

  • Wetherby High School, LS22 6JS

  • Energi Trampoline Park, YO26 6RU


Personal Qualities :

  • Ability to motivate

  • Enthusiastic and passionate - you will love sport and be interested in the Parkour lifestyle and trampolining

  • Enjoy working with children 

  • Quick learner



Skills Required :

  • A good level of fitness

  • High regard to Health & Safety

  • Good leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team  

  • Good interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to understand the learning process and training principles

  •  Knowledge of injury prevention - understanding how to reduce the risk of injury

  • Good time management skills and punctuality

  • Basic coaching experience is desirable but not essential, we do not expect you to be an expert, but some experience will stand you in good stead, particularly experience working with children and young adults



Future Prospects :

By the end of the year a successful apprentice will have their own Trampoline and Parkour lessons. After this they will learn to run their own sites and take on more responsibilities with the running of the club.
