Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our integrated and multidisciplinary Therapy Team based in the Jigsaw CABAS School.

You will be working closely with pupils, consultants, teachers and parents to provide specialist direct and indirect therapy for pupils diagnosed with autism. Through the integration of therapy targets into the classrooms you will help to address motor, perceptual, sensory and functional difficulties for our children and young adults. You will also provide input and advice to the adult JigsawPlus service.

You will benefit from working in a dedicated and supportive Multi displinary team consisting of 5 therapists and 2 therapy support staff and access to our three fully equipped Therapy and Sensory Integration Rooms.

This is a unique opportunity for a therapist to develop their clinical skills whilst receiving supervision and further training in a school where teaching is based on the principles of ABA and rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

Salary £31,000 - £38,000 FTE depending on experience

Equivalent to mid-range NHS Band 6-7

Plus an extensive CPD package and a comprehensive benefits package

34.75 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Part time, home working and/or flexible working can be considered

Qualifications

  • TO BE CONSIDERED CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:

    • A Recognised OT degree/qualification and a HCPC Licence to Practice
    • MRCOT Registration
    • Sensory Integration Training to Level 2/3 with SI network
    • Evidence of CPD e.g. membership of relevant CEN/SIG
    • 2 Years post graduate paediatric work
    • Knowledge of Special educational needs/Autism Spectrum Disorder

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO HAVE EXPERIENCE OF:

    • Postural Management Training/Bobath
    • Delivering clinical supervision
    • Providing advice sessions and/or workshops for carers and other professionals
    • Preparation of reports to contribute to EHCPs and quantifying EHCP provision
    • Supervision of Junior Therapist and personal development reviews
